Welcome to a special episode in my series of Gyumri-based interviews. In this one-off episode, I am not speaking with a Birthright Armenia volunteer or alumnus, but with a tourist visiting our stunning city. Just like in conversations with past and present Birthright participants, listeners will get to know our special guest, learn what they are doing in Armenia and hear about their impressions of Gyumri and Armenia.
Today we are joined by my good friend Peter Molloy, a proud Scotsman who has recently completed his bachelor’s degree in the UK and is enjoying some time off, travelling around one of his favourite regions in the world. Having met over 2 years ago now in Tbilisi, Georgia, at a Russian language school, I was thrilled to see Peter back in the Caucasus and to invite him onto the show!
As Peter is our first guest from outside the Birthright Armenia organisation and first non-Armenian, this episode offers fresh and valuable perspectives on life in Armenia. You will hear about Peter’s impressions of Armenia from his several trips here, his strong recommendations for tourism in Armenia and his hopes for the country’s future despite the many difficulties it faces. Peter, thank you so much for your time, it was a pleasure to work on this episode!
